Overview

 

This route follows the D20 to meet up with the Official VR145 Route and follows roads, tracks and a canal tow path.  The route is easy going.

 

 

 

 

Walk Description :

 

stage 441 - With the Marie de Beugny behind you take the D20 to Haplincourt, and Barastre.  Follow the road through Barastre past the Marie, the church on the right and out of the village along Rue De Moulin.  After the Calvaire take the track right, and then left into the village of Roquigny along Rue de la Chapelle. 

 

2 - Pass the church and go ahead to take the next right Rue de Sailly and then left at the end to the village of Sailly-Saillisel.  In the village turn left Rue de Moilains and after approx 2km turn right D184 Moislains. 

 

3 - Follow the road down the hill in the village and on the corner of Rue de Sailly and Rue Capron turn right D149.  Continue ahead towards the no-through road ignoring the D149 on the right.  Take the first left Rue Carre towards the church, right at the road and then straight on D184 - Rue de L’Ecluse.  Follow the first right down to the canal and right passing the factory on your left. 

 

4 - Pass the lock and then take the road right to the bridge and before crossing it turn right to re-sume walking along the canal.  After 2 more locks and before the bridge take the track right and left to cross the bridge over the canal.  stage 44Continue towards Allaines Centre and then the third left Rue du Pont.  Turn right at the T-junction Rue du Mont St Quentin to the road, cross over to the track, then left after the house and slightly right past the concrete pillars.  Pass through the field and bear right to pass MacDonalds restaurant and go straight ahead across the road to Rue de Madrid.  Turn left along Avenue de l’Europe and left at the roundabout.  Continue to the Musee de la Grande Guerre.
